Getting Keays Software Authorised

Authorising Keays Software is a simple process. If you follow the procedure below you should be able to have the KEAYS programs you require running in a few minutes.

The timezone in Brisbane is GMT plus 10 hours. Please be sure to call during business hours as this is the only time that authorizations can be done.

Windows GetSec

Step 1

You will need to locate 'GetSec' in your keays installation. The best way to do this is via the start menu. Alternatively browse to the location where Keays is installed and double click on wgetsec.exe.

  • Start -> Programs -> KEAYS Software -> Getsec

Upon launch of this program you should see the following screen:

Window getsec screen shot.

Step 2

Next you need to fill out your clients name (eg. John Smith) and press the 'Calculate' button. This will generate a security code displayed in the Local Security Code field.

Step 3

Call Keays software and read out the generated code. Keays Software will then read a code back to you that must be entered in the KEAYS Security Code field. Finally press 'Install' to authorize the software.

DOS GetSec

Step 1

Go to the DOS/MS COMMAND prompt and change to the keays directory. This will generally be c:\keays:

C:\
cd \keays

Then run GetSec by typing:

getsec

or alternativly go to Run under the Start menu (and assuming your install directory is c:\keays) type:

c:\keays\getsec.exe

Step 2

Enter your company/client name and press enter. GetSec will reply with a 10 character security code. Leave the DOS window running.

Step 3

Call Keays software and read out the generated code when prompted. Keays Software will then read a code back to you that must be typed at the

prompt. When the code is entered, press Enter. This will authorize you.
